have got four good players, it is getting them into the right shape. Derby have not ruled out dipping into the transfer market to replace Thorne but Simpson added: are willing to give these lads a go while we consider whether or not we need to look at bringing somebody else in. Given the financial outlay to bring in Thorne it is likely any new additions will be on loan.
Simpson says Thorne is a tough act to follow.
feel we have some good midfield players with Jeff Hendrick, Craig Bryson, John Eustace and Will Hughes.
paid over two million quid for one. The manager also said we needed cover for Martin, I have no doubt that we have got negotiations ongoing. Rush said we would secure all of opur best players, we did. What's to be disappointed with? Thorne had an unfortunate injury, do you expect the club to lay out another miilion quid to buy a replacement (assuming one is available) or are you prepared to wait until the Premier League sides start the loan process? Most of them haven't finalised their squads yet so why be impatient? It might be 31 August or beyond before we get a Thorne replacement into the side, there is nothing we can do about Nike Hyperadapt Carry that, we didn't plan for him to injure his knee! Rush has done a great job so far, get off his back!
knew what George could do and he grew into the position last season, Simpson added.
The club said we needed a right back, we acquired one. The club said we needed a defensive midfield player, we Hyperlive Kyrie Irving
People have got to get over the Wembley error, the best players in the world make mistakes. In the previous 20 games the centre halves had been on top of their game, hence we finished in third spot. As far as I can see we always intended to fill three gaps, the right back slot (done it), the defensive midfield slot (done it) and cover for Martin (work in progress). Its Nike Hypervenom Boots 2017
I am with Bigger view on this one the two centre backs are ok but what if something happens to one of them Whitbread forget it he has not been fit for three seasons OB hes the same neither had a pre season So who have we got ? As for the holding midfield its a hard one Eustace better at winning the ball Will for using it . Not convinced Will has the discipline to play it or the physic and he would be waste there hes much better when hes hurting the opposition As for signings I think its very disappointing loans don't always work we did better with them last season but weve had a lot of duffers in the past
Derby County's Will Hughes and John Eustace will get chance to show they can fill 'George Thorne' role
is a tough act to follow but we have got players like Eustace, who played the role for long periods of the season, and Will Hughes came in and did very well in midfield.
Hughes and Eustace played 45 minutes each against Burton Albion on Tuesday after which first team coach Paul Simpson said: is between those two, at the moment.
is very early to say which one is going to get the nod but we will keep working with them and hopefully we will choose the right midfield players and forward players to go and win the game for us.
not Rush's fault that our two million pound signing is injured. In addition we have brought in some good young players and centre half cover in Whitbread. I was at the meeting, Rush never mentioned a new centre half and neither has McClaren, that's a position on the bigger view wish list but its not an aspiration that is apparently shared by the manager. Its amazing that some fans have all but written off Christie without seeing him play, that's a rare gift. They ought to join our scouting team, it would save a fortune in air fares.
for the start of the season and we will have to be patient (assuming that the right player is available at all). Expressions of disappointment in the management of Derby County are premature, unnecessary and downright stupid, especially when one considers the hard work that has already been undertaken this summer to secure the existing squad and acquire the services of a number of other players, including Thorne. Some fans just like to bleat, they want everything sorted quickly and sod the expense, they don't stop to think that the right players might not be available at this moment in time, they prefer to blame the owners for perceived tightness. The only prejudice being expressed is against those who fund Derby County.
What most fans are saying is that we do need a Thorne replacement but common sense tells us that it should be a loan player. Given that Premier League clubs have not yet finalised their squads common sense also tells us that a deal might not be in place Nike Kobe 8 Low
Thorne impressed during a loan spell at Derby last season and landing the 21 year old topped the list of priorities.
